Hands down best place I have ever trained at! If you’re an athlete wanting to become better, a grandparent who wants to be able to play with your grandchildren or just want to feel better with the body you have this is the place to go in Edmonton or Calgary! The Athletic Therapists talk to the Strength Coaches and build you a program based off your needs! No middle men or you trying to remember what is hurt they give you your homework and you just have to follow along on the app! I’ve been training here for 3 years as a professional bullrider and have won 2 Canadian titles and avoided a lot of injuries from the training and gotten back faster from the few injuries I’ve had. If you want to feel better, look better, and live better the money you spend on yourself is worth the investment of living a pain free life! Much love to the Acumen team!

Calling Acumen Health was the best decision we could of made for our injured daughter. That first call I made, I was “that” Mom, who was panicked, worried and almost desperate after learning of the long wait our daughter would have to endure for surgery in the public system. I knew there were private options and I would be her best advocate to find them.The 8 hour trip we would make to Acumen from Saskatchewan was worth it, every single time.I will never forget that first call from LeeAnne. She was such a reassuring voice, she had a plan, dates, and details. She also ensured the best surgeon was selected for the type of knee surgery our daughter required. And let me tell you, Dr. Myden is a gem of a human. He is generous with his time, attentive to detail, answered all our questions, an amazing skilled surgeon and his care does not stop post surgery.Acumen also uses an amazing surgical facility who treated our daughter so tenderly, knowing she was just a teen. They all introduced themselves to her before she even walked into the OR! They made sure it would be a positive experience for her and it really was.After surgery, the Acumen team is there for you. Post op wound care, video calls to assist in steri strip removal, check ins, manual therapy, rehab and then strength training, in person and virtual, and then testing before return to sport, it is all top notch.Eight months later we have a 14 year old who has returned to her sport – hockey. She loved attending the clinic. The atmosphere was so uplifting, like a team of personal cheerleaders and she always left the clinic with more motivation and a renewed sense of “I’ve got this!” We truly feel we saved her soul finding Acumen Clinic. Sport ending injuries are devastating to an athlete and Dr. Myden understands that – that in itself is priceless. Sidelining our daughter for some indefinite period to sit and wait for surgery was not an option for us. You don’t get these years back as a teen to play competitive sports and we knew there were options available.If you want to spend money on anything, choose your health people! You won’t be disappointed with Acumen. We are thankful a place like this exists and even more thankful they were there when we needed them. (Full ACL reconstruction and LET procedure as a 30 year old Active individual)I've been to several Physio therapy clinics over the years and have developed an expectation for what I'm looking for. Specifically, for therapists to work with me and treat during appointments in a way that I'm unable to treat myself at home (Ie stretches exercises etc) as well as be open to any questions to help me better understand procedures and exercise rationale. Acumen has met every one of my expectations and more, from initial consults being completed remotely to accommodate shift work and inability to travel to the clinic easily, to designing my recovery program around what they know best and my own training experience leading up to injury. I was fortunate enough to be able to work with both Athletic Therapists (AT) and Strength & Reconditioning Specialists (SRS) and they worked in tandem with each other AND myself to help design recovery around my previous experience and needs.Strength & recondition went so far as to have me take photos of my local gym to ensure any exercises and reconditioning that were programmed wouldn't cause any complications for me to complete those sessions, such as lack of equipment or space etc. Athletic Therapy is everything I've come to desire from Physio and more! Working with my injury on both physical exercises to help strengthen and work through regaining movement, along with treatment such as massive or blood flow restriction therapy which increases load by restriction blood flow without needing to add weight to movements that would be too much too early on.The surgeon, post op, ensured that I had a contact to reach him should I require anything or have questions with post op care, along with checking in with me several days and several weeks post op to be as up to date with my healing as possible (a long with receiving and being able to see both AT and SRS notes).I worked primarily with Miranda (AT), JC (SRS) and Dr. Myden, but that didn't stop the rest of the team at Acumen from seamlessly taking up roles as needed should Miranda or JC be unavailable, ensuring that they too worked within the program that had been set, and offering just as much assistance and flexibility as needed!I haven't stopped raving about Acumen since starting to work with them in Nov 2023 and will continue to promote and recommend their excellent clinic to any and all who will listen!I'm sad that my journey has come to an end 1 year post op(my own choosing not them ceasing any of my care) but I'm extremely grateful that I have no issues moving forward and have been able to return to full activities in under a year for a full ACL reconstruction and LETT procedure.Thank you Acumen for all your hard work and help!!

I want to thos doctor with my mom several years ago. Those doctor showed my mother and me her shoulder and chest wall mri there was alot of atrophy and he told us her pectoralis was like hanging there from a previous botched surgery. The reason i. Contributing to thos review is because I think when surgeon start becoming non empathetic and compassionate something should be said. My mom is suffering and holding on for dear life. This doctor in the beginning was understanding and trying to look for surgical team because her issues were beyond him. Unfortunately he couldn't. In dispare and years of no treatment and decline that is likely going to end my mom's life we went back to this doctor. He changed greatly denied he saw anything wrong on mri denied he said she needed a muscle transfer denied he stayed she needed to leave canada due to her netcare and medical neglect. I was so shocked I didn't say 1 word to in this appointment as I have witnessed so many doctors lie or go back on things that took place. In my experience doctors can be decent when you are a easy case they can quickly become unethical and dehumanizing. I am not sure what happened to the owner of his clinic but he showed me 1 more lesson in my journey with my mom. Doctors who show you your problems right on mr can pull up the mri years later and say it looks fine . They can say 1 thing and then turn and say anything they want years later. Doctors almost all of them do not practice medicine ethically or humanly.He may be a good surgeon but it's proven he can also be a bad one just based of my experience. How can my mom have a diagnosis by this guy right in front of my eyes and suggestions only to turn out years later she is so much worse for this guy to say her muscle looks fine on mri and the ultrasound don't mean anything. How can he fear an exam in fear she will.be hurt and ask her to just live like this when she is so frail and requires updated nerve studies as she is having so many nerve issues she needed update images.He let her walk out with nothing feeding her to the wolf's that had neglected her and becoming one of them himselfSad state 😢

I would like to say this doctor at first looked like he really cared looked like he really understood my problem-I unfortunately have a very complicated problem saw him a few years ago and again most recentlyI was shocked that he went back on his original findingsHe right out lied and said he didn't say my original problem needed a team plastic ortho. I don't know why these doctors feel the need to lie I am just so glad I don't attend these appointments alone-He also said the pectoralis is a small muscle and that the lat don't go down the side of the body under the armHe told me I should just continue to love the way I am but was reluctant to do an exam in fear I will be hurtI was shocked a doctor feels it's ok to.live this way but us fearful of hurting ne for an examThe doctors do strength test and range of motion test but do not palpation the muscle to see the insertions or if they are hard soft swollenHe refused to send me for any consultations knowing full well I am in a serious medical situationI was complaining about my arm my shoulder blade my armpit the muscles going down the ribs and the arm effecting the neckI did a corse of therapy and was looking for updated images he refusedI just feel terrible

Acumen Performance clinic Edmonton is an absolutely world class facility for both rehabilitation therapy and performance training. I was introduced to Acumen after encountering chronic back pain and recuring low back injuries. They not only diagnosed and assessed my issue, came up with a collaborative treatment plan that worked for me then developed a performance training program that has all but eliminated any ongoing symptoms or relapses. I suffered with bulging disc's in my L4-L5. L5-S1 for years and all but gave up on any type of squat or deadlift exercises. After visiting the amazing staff at Acumen I am now not only returned to Olympic lifting but am back to deadlifting more than I ever have and feeling great. My therapist Nina and trainer C J. immediately made me feel like family and never made me feel intimidated or incapable of reaching my fitness goals. Their knowledge of anatomy, body mechanics and recovery methods was something other clinics had always fallen short on and took me from feeling helpless and disabled to confident and in the best shape of my life. Thank you Acumen. I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone in any sport modality or just looking to tune up their fitness and performance capabilities.

I’ve had a better experience with Acumen than I could have imaged. I tore my ACL skiing on January 6th, and I’m currently 10 weeks post op and rehab is going great!Dr. Myden did my consultation and surgery and it went fantastic. I thought the assessment would be quick because a MRI already confirmed my tear, but Dr. Myden took time to go over my lifestyle, hobbies, occupation, potential other injuries in the leg, and answered all my questions. I left the consultation feeling like I would be able to get back to the things I love doing! Surgery went great, and Dr Myden was able to repair an additional tear in my meniscus. He’s been always available for questions I’ve had during recovery, and is always prompt and detailed in his communication. It’s been great to have a surgeon that is involved and gets to know their patient!I’ve been doing my rehabilitation sessions with Nina and it’s also been an unreal experience. The sessions are always the right level of activity and challenging, and the amount of strength and stability I have back in my operative leg is amazing. She’s very personable, upbeat, knowledgeable, and makes sure I’m not pushing too hard or getting ahead of myself while the graft is healing. Hands down the best experience I’ve had with a therapist (Athletic or Physio!) The BFR is a weekly staple, and even with how sore it makes me, I look forward to every appointment.Walking into Acumen you can immediately notice a positive atmosphere. I can’t imagine going anywhere else now that I’ve been here. If you’re thinking about taking your care to Acumen, do it!

Dr. Shantz saved my partners life. After many many appointments with doctors, tests, scans & pain specialists for a decade with no resolve and being accused of drug seeking, my partner had deteriorated to the point of partial paralysis we found Dr. Shantz. The experience was professional, knowledgeable and fast. We felt heard and my partner was diagnosed properly & a treatment plan which involved an extensive spinal surgery was developed. My partner has made an almost full recovery - he would have made a full recover however, due to misdiagnosis previous to Acumen the damage done cannot be reversed. My partner has since gone back to school, now has a huge career and rebuilt family relationships that had been destroyed because of his misdiagnosis. We thank God or Spirit every day for helping us find Acumen and will always recommend and be indebted to Dr. Shantz, his staff and Acumen.

I came to the Acumen Clinic several months after enduring a high impact fracture on my right leg. The extent of my injury was quickly assessed by Dr Myden accompanied by LeeAnne Gullett(one of the physiotherapist)A safe rehab regiment was then implemented. The scheduling of appointments was always quick and easy with a friendly staff who truly cared for your needs. I would like to offer my gratitude to the entire staff and physiotherapists at Acumen for their professionalism and wisdom in my time of need.When it came time to remove the metal rod and screws in my leg, Dr Myden along with The Weiss Clinic were quick and efficient. My recovery time was extremely short with minimal pain. It would be remiss of me not to mention the incredible attention given to me by LeeAnne Gullett,my physiotherapist. She went above and beyond what was required for my healing process. A leader in her field with amazing knowledge and expertise. The Acumen Clinic is the best choice one could make. Not contacting them would be a costly mistake.

Thank goodness I found Acumen and now have my life back!!Every part of the experience was top notch!! I needed a total hip replacement and spent to many years suffering. I Eliminated or modified far to many things.IF YOU ARE GOING TO PAY FOR IT, YOU WANT RESULTS AND EASY. THEY MADE IT EASY.The initial call was with Kelly who answered questions and quarterbacked the process, timely responses and follow up. Very professional.From my surgical assessment date in November to the hip replacement date in December. About 5 weeks.In between time, the family doctor physical, blood work, x-rays. All booked and set up with precision.My surgeon Dr. Snider is fantastic! Very experienced!The surgical center in Calgary was great! Comfortable private room with TV. Nurses are great and they are not under staffed!! Exceptional patient to nurse ratio! Even the food was good! The post discharge nursing team provided were also very nice and helpful. They gave me all the help I could possibly need.My post surgery strengthening sessions with Miranda are going very well. She knows her stuff and both when and when not to crack the whip.If your path leads you to consider private, you need to strongly consider Acumen!!Good luck

I contacted Acumen Clinic to inquire about a knee replacement. Being disillusioned with the public health system and the long wait times I decided to move forward with a knee replacement through Acumen. I participated in an 8 week pre operative physio to prepare for surgery. The staff is professional, knowledgeable and very friendly and supportive. I travelled to the Duval Clinic in Montreal for my surgery and had a fantastic experience there. I was walking without support the next day and healing journey is going very well! I am returning to Acumen to do my post surgery rehab as I have full confidence they will help me attain my optimal recovery and mobility.

So because I missed my appointment twice due to physical challenges, I was told by the receptionist via a phone that I was a "No show" and that she would not book me in for another appointment. I told her I was willing to prepay for the consultation, but I was bluntly refused access to a physician by a "receptionist". Her response to me via the telephone was very cold, no empathy whatsoever, very arrogant also. I am shocked that this kind of savage service happens.Well, I'm certain God is redirecting me elsewhere, it's for the best....

My first visit was back in January, I came In with constant knee pain and joints popping in and out and day 1 Brian found somethings that could be the cause and then later was able to give me answers as to what what happening to my joints. Twice I had attended 6 weeks of treatment with Nicole as I had knee replacements in both my knees. Nicole is exceptionally good at her job and she genuinely cares. Miranda has been exceptional as my therapist following hip joint replacement surgery. She is extremely well qualified and a great communicator. She continues to address my progress and designs exercises to strengthen weak areas. I have been highly impressed and unreservedly would highly recommend their services. My first visit to Acumen was Sep-2021 due to a surfing injury, leaving me with a partial quad tendon tear. I went on a journey with some of the most incredible people in the industry. My recovery was so good that I decided to continue utilizing the priceless skills of the team for strength training and conditioning. A year later, I broke my ankle (no, it wasn’t on purpose!) on the same leg and started the whole process over again. Once again, the team got me back on track and feeling better than ever. Although I’ve spent the most time with Chris, I’ve had the pleasure of working with many of the other members of the team and they are all stellar at what they do!

This clinic is amazing! I tore my ACL skiing back in March. Opted to go here based on the good reviews and see what my options were. I felt informed and able to make a choice that was the best for me. I never felt pressured into anything. I felt supported to make my own decision and knew that they would help where I needed them. I did end up having private surgery and am now heading into the rehab precess. So far I am very happy with the care I have received here and would highly recommend this clinic. The clinic has been very accommodating for Tele health appointments as well, as I live 2.5 hours out of the city.

I enrolled in the 6-week osteoarthritis knee programme. My goals were two-fold--firstly to eliminate pain and secondly to avoid or delay knee surgery. The programme has far surpassed my expectations. My therapist Nicole was professional and knowledgeable. She encouraged me to go further every day but did not try to overdo the therapy to the point where I suffered pain after the sessions. I was so pleased with the results that I enrolled for a further 8 sessions in order to continue the progress I have made to date.

I tore my ACL in September of 2021 and got surgery that November. My rehab with acumen began the day after surgery and was the best rehab experience I’ve ever had. Communication with the therapists is top class. Every therapist knows you by name, and greets you every time you walk in the door. They are actually invested in your recovery and are always holding you accountable. I’ve worked mostly with LeeAnne and Mike and they are amazing therapist and even better humans. I’ve built great relationships with all the people at acumen and am very grateful I choose it over any other clinic. My knee is fully recovered and feels amazing. I would without a doubt recommend acumen for any rehab or concerns you have!!

I just want to say i am very grateful for the help i received.. i had a complex maniscus tear and after 10 months of trying to get help from a local Doctor i decided to see what Accuman could do for me.. i received a plasma injection... it took a couple months i have . some pain but i would say 74%gone.. i am a very heavy lady.. which doesnt help .. but i am very grateful ...wonderful people and very quick ...

I had a phenomenal experience with a recent injury at Acumen. My knee was locked and unable to straighten, within the first 5 minutes of my appointment with LeeAnne (an Athletic Therapist/Trainer) she had identified a probable meniscus tear. Not only was she able to quickly identify a bucket handle tear in my medial meniscus and probable ACL damage, she could tell the seriousness and urgency of my situation. She was able to reach out to a surgeon in the public system who I met with the next day. Three days later I got in for an MRI and I was booked for ACL reconstruction and meniscus repair surgery two days after the MRI results came in. The whole process from my first appointment at Acumen to my surgery was just over two weeks with LeeAnne checking in every step of the way. Had I gone through the public system it seems very unlikely I would have been taken care of so quickly. Everyone at Acumen were extremely knowledgeable and friendly, I would highly recommend a visit for any injury.

I've just finished the knee conditioning program (12 sessions over 6 weeks). The instruction and care was excellent: exercises I could do that were tailored to where I am at; a variety of ways to exercise the same muscle (so I can change-it-up); and lots of education about doing exercise with minimal to no pain. Nicole along with Miranda and Lee Anne were caring, supportive and helpful. My mobility and range of motion has improved and I'm curious to see how much more change happens as I put this program in action over the longer term.

I have been working with Mike for over a year and he has transformed my athletic ability taking me from a severely injured competitor (shoulder issues, hip issues, ankle issues... you name it) to where I am now: a lot less pain, almost 100% restoration of my shoulder, and hitting new levels of athleticism. My experience at Acumen from initial consultation, surgery with Dr. Jesse and the long road to recovery has been nothing short of 5 stars. This isn't a standard physio clinic, they strive to use the best methods and systems to ensure that recovery is done to return their clients to the best life possible. Everyone who works here is insanely qualified, passionate and most of them are kinesiology super nerds (especially LeeAnne, who I have been doing my training and therapy with and deserves 6 stars).

I had an appointment with Chris and Nicole.I was there for a movement assessment and tour.Nicole gave me the best calf/tendon massage.I felt like I had a brand new pair of legs leaving the clinic.I highly recommend Acumen Clinic.

I can't say enough good things about the people of Acumen Clinic. After 8 years of having doctors refuse to treat me because there was a lawsuit involved, I found Acumen Clinic and booked an appointment with Dr. Shantz. Dr. Shantz wanted to make sure that surgery was my only option, so I went for therapy with Nicole and Cayla, and they worked very hard with me while accommodating for my needs. Everyone is very understanding and kind. After about a month, things didn't get better so I opted for surgery and boy did we find some problems. 8 years of ongoing pain was finally explained for, and I got a ligament repair in my knee.Afterwards, I have worked with LeeAnne after recovery. She is so friendly and understanding and took the time to communicate with me for my every anxiety or problems that came up. We had a great time together and I am much more improved and can finally squat and am strengthening my knee with Nicole who fun and outgoing. I am now 4-5 months post op and am feeling much better and can do many things that I couldn't for 8 years!Thank you!

I am presently seeing Leanne for an issue with a nerve affecting movement of my shoulder. She is incredibly knowledgeable, personable and amazing at explaining exactly what she is doing. She ensures that I understand what she is doing and why. Her intellect is the primary reason I chose to see her for my issue. It is very clear to me that she cares deeply for her patients which is an excellent reassurance that my treatment is in the right hands.I also have some experience with Chris. He also is an excellent coach and is able to convey the justification for his exercise prescriptions well. I have noticed that he has trained some clients for many years which should speak to his ability to build rapport and deliver results.

I can not speak highly enough of the care my 13 year old son received from Dr Shantz, Leanne and Mike. The time this team takes to fully assess, diagnose and explain his pitching injury has been second to none. Leanne has been outstanding and has gone above and beyond to keep in close contact with us, adjust rehabilitation where needed and keep tabs on my sons progression. Not only has she kept in touch with us but also with my son's personal trainer and baseball coach to ensure everyone is on the same page and working towards the goal of back to pitching in the summer. I am so grateful to have my son's health in an unbelievable team's care. Highly recommend the Acumen team!

Started to work with Leanne and the Acumen Clinic after getting the proper diagnosis for my shoulder injury after 2 years of frustration. Leanne was awesome. She is vibrant and utilizes contemporary rehabilitative techniques pertinent to my shoulder injury. I had ACL reconstruction in early March. Lee Anne was able to do an excellent job of guiding me through recovery, despite the fact that we were not able to meet in person, due to covid 19 restrictions.Through telehealth, (FaceTime) I was able to meet with her every couple weeks to review and improve my physio exercises & treatment. This has resulted in constant progression, which has made it possible, to successfully recover from surgery.On top of doing an excellent job, Lee Anne offered extra curricular help and guidance. She provided me with additional information on golf specific rehab, and happily answered all my questions or concerns.She has gone above and beyond, I am lucky to have had her help, as well as the additional support from all the staff at Acumen.I would recommend Lee Anne & Acumen to anyone who wants to ensure successful rehabilitation. They have made this process possible and enjoyable.

Had my first session today with LeeAnne, she went through a series of tests to find out what's going on with my shoulder pain and then we hit the gym floor and went over some exercises and proper form. This experience was far superior than any other physio I've done in the past and LeeAnne was really awesome!

I had surgery for a partial knee replacement with Dr. Snider. When it was time for therapy I met Brandon. He has been so helpful, patient and knowledgeable with helping me progress in my recovery. I would like to thank Dr. Costa and the team at Acumen Clinic. They all have been extremely accommodating, and professional in the total knee replacement I required. This surgery would have been a two year process in B.C medical system. I was fortunate to have the consult in Vancouver, and surgery, in Calgary with in a 4-1/2 week period.I am presently 17 days post surgery, walking with a cane, with little discomfort, and increasing mobility .I will certainly go this route with my other knee as soon as time permits.Well done team Thank youBruce

I had AC shoulder reconstruction surgery after an injury playing soccer. Dr. Jesse was awesome in diagnosing the issue and taking me through the steps of the surgery, from the procedure itself to the different stages of recovery. The surgery went very well and I was left with minimal scarring. Brandon helped me with the recovery portion post surgery and got me out of the sling in under 6 weeks, after 11 weeks I was back lifting weights and on the road to full fitness. I couldn't have imagined having this surgery anywhere else and feel I made the right decision for my future health.

Finding the right fit of athlete therapist, trainer, surgeon, support team is challenging. Our son sublexed his shoulder in sport and we quickly got him to a physio therapist that had great reviews, and then after a few weeks, he was cleared to return to sport, he sublexed his shoulder a 2nd time and we returned again and saw a different therapist which was better and clearer guidance. After a 3rd and 4th sublexations and 7 specialists we finally met with the Acumen team.The Acumen team was thorough from Dr. Jesse the surgeon and he explained in detail the MRI results, options and risks, then we planned a physio rehabilitation with the Acumen Team with Whitney (Athletic therapist), Mike (strength and conditioning specialist) with an elite baseball focus, and also received support from other team members including Brandon, Shannon, and Alex.This was the right “Team” / fit for us because of how thorough they were at all times, the trust that was built, and how they worked as a team versus individuals. It seemed they cared more for the client than anything individual always made us feel that we were getting the absolute best of support. In addition, we had clear results, guidance for what to work on and a plan. I could easily ramble on about how the experiences have been best through the Acumen Team vs all the other specialists; however, for us it was communication, expertise, trust, plan, and relationship.

All four of our multi sport teenage daughters have been to Brandon for knee issues and a high ankle sprain injury. The girls felt completely at ease, and he did a great job at explaining the injury they had, as well as demonstrating the physio plan they needed to do and the mechanics behind each exercise. he also stressed the importance of doing it consistently and properly to ensure that they could resume their activities as soon as possible. He was great with my teenage girls! Brandon’s wealth of knowledge is top notch, and he takes the time to educate his patients which is a huge bonus. He’s personable and truly cares about his patients. Our family won’t go anywhere else.

Absolutely Amazing!Let me tell you, I've had a shoulder injury for the past ten years and have struggled to figure out what's wrong. In just one appointment, the team had their suspicions which was quickly confirmed by some imaging they had requested to be done.Dr.S did my surgery which went very smoothly (worth every penny spent). And my recovery and rehabilitation with the team is going just as well.The staff is very knowledgeable and willing to work with you in which ever way they can. I have honestly never felt better

I want to share how it exceptional the Acumen clinic is in the south (130th area)! A very professional and exceptional team of sports therapists BUT they go above and beyond treating just sports related ailments! I had a muscle/nerve related issue (not even close to sports related) that no other clinician was able to treat and Dr. Brian Boisvert resolved my issue in just two treatments of ART and dry needling. I cannot convey the relief I felt after months of discomfort and I am so grateful. Please think outside the box of usual massage therapy and physio if you are not getting successful results. Beyond impressed!!

Dr. Boisvert, or Brian with the magic hands, is a blessing. Whether I have irritated my piriformis with heavy deadlifts, or have tension in my quads from too much cycling, he undoes the worst of it and makes sure I leave with stretches and ways of prevention going forward. No matter what mystery body ailment I bring him, we work together to get me going again as soon as reasonably possible. He has also supported major surgery recovery, for both myself, and my best friend. I have recommended him to those I love because of my absolute trust in his professionalism, knowledge and care. I had a complete tear in my supraspinatus tendon a few months ago after an accidental fall. Initially, I contacted BC’s public healthcare system but was facing long wait times for an MRI, a specialist consultation, and surgery. Fortunately, a friend recommended Dr. Jesse, and I'm so glad they did!Dr. Jesse responded to my case incredibly quickly. Within a week of contacting him, he saw me for an initial consultation, thoroughly examined my shoulder, reviewed my MRI and X-rays, and scheduled surgery within two weeks. His expertise as an orthopedic surgeon is unmatched, and the surgery went perfectly.Now, nearly five months post-surgery, my recovery has been amazing. Dr. Jesse has continued to follow up with me monthly, ensuring that my shoulder is healing properly and introducing me to athletic therapists who has been instrumental in my rehabilitation. My experience with Jesse and the team at Acumen has been awesome. I had surgery two weeks ago and I'm 100% satisfied with everything about the experience. I think I had more questions after the surgery than before but the entire team is always willing to take the time to explain whatever I ask about. I look forward to working with them during my recovery. They really do go above and beyond in every way. I highly recommend Acumen.

After waiting 9 months for a consultation with an orthopedic surgeon ( I am still waiting) my family doctor referred me to Dr. Shantz. I was seen immediately and an operation was scheduled that worked with my schedule. He is generous with his time, explains the problem and how to resolve it. cert happy with Dr. Shantz and his staff. Highly recommend.

Waited almost 2 years to be told I was still at least 8 months away from surgery. Contacted dr Shants office and was on an operating table less than 3 weeks later. Dr shants and all his staff were very knowledgeable and helpful! 10/10 recommend.

I was looking for someone who could give me a timely assessment, options, and support. I wanted to feel in control which is difficult in the public health system. I wanted someone professional with a solid reputation and experience in ACL knee injuries. I got it all with one call to Acumen. A bit of luck had me scheduled for an appt the very same day in Kelowna. Dr Shantz and his support staff (Francesca, Caitlyn, and LeeAnne) were all super-relateable, professional, and attentive. Dr. Shantz performed shoulder surgery on our 18 year old back in April. After spending 2 years trying to find the right options and answers for our son, we were close to giving up. His passion is baseball and he was offered a scholarship to play in the US. Unfortunately his chronic pain caused ongoing frustration for him. Finding Jesse and his team was a true gift. It is now 8 months later and his team continue to support his rehabilitation from a distance which is amazing! Leanne Gullett is truly invested in his recovering and I can tell you as his mother I cannot thank her enough. He is feeling stronger than ever, his pain finally made sense after Dr. Jesse explained in detailed his 45 photos from inside his shoulder. I cannot recommend this clinic enough.

Dr. Shantz and his team did an outstanding job diagnosing and repairing my shoulder. He was extremely informative with the assessment and the steps of the procedure. He provided every technical detail I was interested in and showed videos and pictures to support. The timeliness was fast and accommodated my schedule. Post surgery, my recovery has been extremely fast. His arthroscopic techniques provide for minimal damage to surrounding areas.
