Dr. Wilson is a Royal College certified General Surgeon with many years of experience with a broad range of surgeries and procedures including minimally invasive, advanced endoscopic, open, and laparoscopic techniques. She offers surgical management of a wide range of General Surgical conditions including but not limited to diseases of the gallbladder, gastrointestinal tract, breast, abdominal wall, skin, removal of lumps and bumps, and management of varicose veins. Her extensive experience with hernia repairs includes both laparoscopic and open, non-mesh (including the Shouldice technique) and mesh (absorbable and non- absorbable) repairs. Her expertise in advanced endoscopy allows her to perform gastroscopies and colonoscopies with ease, skill, and comfort.
Dr. Wilson completed her medical degree at UBC and her General Surgery residency at the University of Ottawa. She is a Clinical Instructor of Surgery within the Division of General Surgery at the University of British Columbia. Her main interests include cancer prevention and treatment, continuing medical and surgical education, enhanced quality improvement, and patient focused care at the highest level. She strives for excellence and is always putting the patient first in their medical journey. She has an insatiable curiosity in solving difficult medical and surgical conditions and always considers the patient as a whole, which allows her to solve unusually difficult medical conditions. She always provides a supportive environment and ensures patients are central to every part of their medical and surgical journey.
