Our Acumen Reconditioning Team is composed of Certified Athletic Therapists who work with you to achieve your goals.
What is a Certified Athletic Therapist?
- A highly educated practitioner who specializes in muscle, tendon, bone and ligament assessment and rehabilitation.
- A practitioner that uses the credentials CAT(C)
- A therapist who is skilled with clinical treatment, as well as on-field care for sports, activities and industrial locations.
When can you see a Certified Athletic Therapist:
- Any injury that relates to a muscle, tendon, bone, joint or ligament
- Concussion rehabilitation
- Pre surgery rehabilitation
- Post surgical rehabilitation
What an Appointment with a Certified Athletic Therapist may Look Like:
- History: We will sit down with you and discuss your current concerns, past injuries and relevant health information as well as goals that you would like to work towards.
- Assessment: Based on your history we will assess your movement of the affected area, and possible surrounding joints as needed.
- Treatment: After assessing your injury, we will then decide what treatment will be beneficial for you. These treatments may include, soft tissue mobilization, the use of different modalities, exercise, and overall education on your current issue.
- Rehabilitation: We will provide you with exercises that will help support your healing while working towards your goals.
At Acumen, Certified Athletic therapists play a large role in your rehabilitation. You may first see one of our therapists in consultation with one of the surgeons. We believe that your health should be integrative, so our surgeons, certified athletic therapists,and our strength and conditioning coaches work together to help support you.
